Curriculum
Science 8
Science 8 biology is a course that combines all sorts of different science topics into mini-units scattered throughout the semester.
Life processes are performed at the cellular level, the immune system, viruses, and all sorts of other topics are covered in this course.
It might seem a little bit short, as it's a course that spans one semester and combines all sorts of science topics in one go, but it still comes together nicely.
Science 9
Science 9 is the same case as Science 8, in which students are allotted different periods of time for different science topics.
Cell Division and the propagation of life are the main topics covered for Biology in this course.
Students start to get more experience with labs and hands-on activities.

Science 10
Science 10 is yet again a subject where Biology isn't the main focus of the course, but one where Biology is relegated to one of the many topics around the subject.
The main titles covered in this course include the transformation/conservation of energy, genes being the basis of all living beings, and how all of that connects back to the environment.
The aim for this course is to support students understanding of the world that they live and breathe on.
Life Sciences 11
Life Sciences 11 is the first biology-centric course that is in the Palmer program.
Methods/principles of Biology, Cellular Structure and Processes, Genetics, Viruses, Bacteria, Protists, Fungi and their variants, botany, Zoology and Ecology are all of the topics present in this course.

Biological principles will be explored, and the science of organisms among other things.
Life Sciences 11 enriched
Life Sciences 11 Enriched is a course designed for students with higher marks in Science 10 to enter more of an advanced course.
On top of covering everything from Science 10, it also goes over additional material for other biology courses down the line.
Said extra content includes:
Phylogeny/classification, Ecology/population genetics, the Hardy-Weinberg Equilibrium, Photosynthesis and Animal Behaviours/interactions

Anatomy and Physiology 12 (+ enriched
Anatomy and Physiology 12 is a course that Life Sciences 11 helps with.
It's a course designed for students that are looking to go into Biology post-high school, or for those that are just looking to learn more about the subject.
The topics covered are: Biochemistry, Cell Structures and Functions, Cell Processes, DNA, Protein Synthesis, Gene Regulation and Mutation, Cancer and Human Organ Systems

Anatomy and Physiology 12 Enriched is essentially Anatomy and Physiology 12 but with a more advanced curriculum.
It covers extra material such as Control of enzymatic reactions, Gene expression and human body systems
Advanced Placement Biology 12
Advanced Placement Biology 12 is the same as a first-year post-secondary course.
It has many requirements such as having high marks in life sciences 11/life sciences enriched, anatomy and physiology 12, or currently taking anatomy and physiology enriched 12.
The curriculum includes things like: Lab work is a big part of this course, and it covers
Ecology, phylogeny, evolution, Gene expression/control, DNA, genomics, Cellular respiration, photosynthesis, Statistical analysis, human body systems.
