Social Studies is seemingly one of those subjects that fades into the background, likely overshadowed by its more infamous friends, like mathematics.

That being said however, it's not something to brush off so easy, as it's a very overlooked matter.

Social Studies, being a commentary on human nature itself is useful in many different ways when attempting to understand our society today.

Especially at RC Palmer, it's considered a subject worth amassing 12 whole courses for.

More can be learned by going to this page here about the importance of Social Studies.

Social Studies is considered a quite broad category for those taking the subject course. Some think of it as annoying, while some think of it as easy marks, some might find it difficult, and others enjoy it wholeheartedly.

This might be a result of the fact that a lot of components go into Social Studies as a whole, there's writing, research, class discussion, presentations, basically a sprinkle of everything.

Humanities 8 is a perfect example of this trend, being a fusion of both English and Social Studies, it exemplifies the traits of this trend perfectly.

Of course more Social Studies courses down the line have these facts embedded into them as well, such as Socials 9, Socials 10, and 20th Century World History 12.

More about the curriculum can be found here.

Ultimately, Social Studies is an amazing subject, and if this introduction hasn't been convincing enough, then please read the rest of this subject section.

It will surely be worthwhile!
