The importance of French and modern languages
In modern society, many people seem to have forgotten the general significance and role that modern languages play in our everyday.
Instead, they seem more like a novelty of sorts, that one would pick up as they go along in their life.
However, there is much more to languages that seem to have been overlooked.
For example, the educational merit that is present in the prospect of learning a language.
Learning a language can open up many different doors that one can use for potential job opportunities, such as being a translator.
Knowing different languages and utilizing those in your job is in high demand, and has been for quite a while now.

Obviously, there is even more to this, such as cultural understanding that one will pick up.
Learning about and understanding a different culture allows for deeper comprehension of said society.
This of course, alludes to significant connections that one can make with the people and culture of the country that they are learning about (case in point France).
This promotes deeper respect for the country itself, the culture, and may inspire them to potentially take a visit.
French is especially significant, as students who continue to take French throughout their years, might form a special connection to France after spending so much time with it.
Therefore, coupling together the educational merit and the fact that you can speak French on one's resumé can give itself importance.
All in all, modern languages (French in this case), play more of a role than you might realize in modern society, and are something that you may or may not want to keep an eye out for.
