Introduction to French (modern language)

At R.C. Palmer Secondary, French is one of the few modern language courses that one can take.

Between the 3 options of French, Spanish and Japanese, French is easily in the spotlight.

In grade 8, French is a required course, but one can choose whether they want to take French in grade 9 which is the focus of this article.

Thanks to the prerequisite of elementary school French and grade 8, one would have amassed a decent understanding of French.

Because of this, French 9 can build off of, and help branch out the nuance of one's French language learning skills.

The many different ways they can branch off will be covered in this article.

Communication skills are the main focus of grade 9, and oral presentations are a huge part of the curriculum.

If you want to learn more about the curriculum, then you can check out the curriculum page on this section of the website.

While this site doesn't have to do much with the actual language, or even French culture, I hope that all who read this can find it useful to guide them throughout their journey in French in some sort of way!

French is a highly encouraged course with the direct connection that we here in Canada have with France.

Thus, it is quite the recommendation for all Canadian high school students as a subject.

Thank you for reading.
